And are you wondering how things could be? Just staring at the surface, When all the walls have tendencies. But it's not your fault when no one taught you how. | [atrb=style, width:250px;][atrb=valign, top] how quick to forget, we are He didn’t actually like coffee. Why he was drinking it, then, was beyond him. He supposed it was because it suited the mood. The park was relatively quiet, and quite relaxing, mostly due to the fact that it was early morning. Not many people liked getting up in the morning; Ivan himself had always been an early riser, even when he’d been alive. That was partially to do with his horrendously erratic sleeping patterns, though – he’d never been able to sleep the whole night through, and usually found himself waking up in the middle of the night at various intervals. He’d been tempted to diagnose himself as insomniac, once, although now he thought that labelling himself as such was simply pointless. It was his fault that his sleeping habits were ridiculous, anyway.
Ivan took another sip of his coffee as he made his way down the path, the gravel crunching softly in an oddly comforting way. With the warm Styrofoam cup in his hands, he almost felt alive. It was easy to forget that this was the afterlife – easy to forget unless one happened to see one of those Underlings. It was still jarring, in a way; they seemed so out of place in a world that seemed almost normal, almost living. He’d been surprised and jolted out of a peaceful lull more than once because of it, and when he’d first arrived, it had been completely surreal. Still was surreal, if he thought about it.
Well – this was the afterlife, no matter how lifelike it seemed. He was still dead, and there would be no changing that. It was almost like a second chance of sorts – and it was ironic, really, how death was a second chance. It was also somewhat depressing, if one considered the disappointment that some of the more suicidal individuals who arrived in the Underworld felt. He heaved a sigh, before sitting down on a bench, closing both hands around his cup and allowing the warmth to seep through his fingers.
OOC: …ugh this is so rambly. …well Ivan is a rambly person so at least I’m justified. )o) |

They were filled with people, and those people always had some kind of story. Or some kind of need. Usually some chore, considering how busy and fast paced they all seemed to be. But it wasn't like that was any sort of bad thing either, at least for Jin. It only brought in some business, and with such a wishy washy job as an errand runner, any business was good business, and it was always worth it.
So basically Jin was wandering around this park today to look for potential customers. And there were so many potentials too. "A businessman who looks too busy to get some coffee... or something as small as that. That's ought to get me something like five dollars... maybe three... hopefully he likes expensive coffee." Approaching the man, Jin put on a smile instantly, as if a switch was turned, and opened her mouth to voice a greeting.
"Hello! A- hm?" Smile still in place, the white haired girl watched as her customer inched away from her, eyeing her as if she'd grown a few heads. Giving herself a meaningful pat, that wasn't the case. She only had one head still. Though the minor distraction must have been longer than she thought, since the businessman was already gone. Surveying the crowd, she couldn't even spot him amongst the other park-goers. "Strange man. Maybe he wasn't a good customer after all," she chirped, and wandered around a bit more with a bounce in her step.
Unfortunately, the next few people she tried reacted the same way. She kept checking her heads but... she hadn't gotten any extras. Nor did anything else seem to be out of the ordinary either. It was only until one woman cried out that Jin finally got it.
"That sword! A child like you shouldn't be carrying around a weapon so obviously!" Tilting her head, Jin stared at the blade held in her hand. She wasn't even wearing it on her shoulder or anything, just carrying it. Why did that look threatening? It wasn't like she was even trying to hide it either.
"Oh. I see." She swung the sword around so it was directly in front of her, and placed her hand on the hilt. She slid it out an inch. "So this would be more 'scary' right?" The woman flinched outright, and the teen slid the sword back into its sheath. It dropped to her side once more. "Bet this feels more safe, right?"
"Uh y-yeah... I think I gotta go now though so... goodbye!" And with that, she sped off. Jin didn't exactly pay her much mind. Staring at her sword once more, she honestly didn't see a sheathed weapon as a "dangerous" one, but maybe that was just her. "Though I'm almost curious now..." Taking a look at the people in the park for what seemed to be the tenth time in about five minutes, a lone man on a bench caught her attention. He didn't seem so skittish, so maybe he could give a more feedback without running away.
Almost hopping over to him, Jin displayed her sword and asked, "So the fact I carry this around, do you find me threatening?" Remembering her manners... she put on a smile. "It's okay if you think so! I just got curious."
