Her arms were covered in grime just like usual. They worked almost mechanically, stripping the porcelain plates of the grease and other food remnants that coated them. Her hair, forever in two messy pigtails as if she was trying to preserve her already eternal youth, was dirtied from the mist that sprang into the air with every pump from her hose.
She had been going at it for three hours now, but the time skipped by in what seemed like seconds. That's what happens when you've spent a good three centuries in the underworld. Time ceases to exist. "Mason, you've got thirty minutes. Get that look off of your face and get offa payroll."
Rose withdrew her hands from the pool of murk, wiped them along with her brow and walked out of the kitchen. Her face was statute throughout the process of relieving herself of her duty and she left without casting a look back.
Unfortunately she didn't stay out long. The Punish District frightened her and Sin's End was her only solace. She returned within ten minutes with a dainty lunch she had purchased a few stores down. Rose sat at the bar and began to eat, slowly losing herself to the grungy music that played in the background.

Vivi was working hard today. She worked with energy and a smile on her face. She always did, whenever she worked she was always in an oddly good mood. She was scrubbing away on tables and serving drinks to the worst of the worst, Vivi wasn't worried though, despite being a young and vulnerable girl, she had training from the best and could fight off anyone. She couldn't help but smile at the thought about her old lover. She sighed, knowing that he probably hadn't changed a bit and found a new girl, but as long as her son was okay she was fine with it.
Vivi heard the boss tell one of the dishwashers she was on lunch break and a second later a cute girl with pigtails walked out of the building. Vivi looked over at the boss, hoping to get hers off too, and smiled as he nodded at her. "The second you get those two tables done" He notified her and Vivi nodded, running to get the last two tables done. She rushed, hoping to be able to catch the girl, who's name she thought was Rose. Vivi had been hoping to befriend the girl and maybe she'd have an easier time in eternity.
Vivi spotted her sit down at a table, and Vivi grabbed the lunch that she had packed herself and walked over, pulling out the chair and placing herself right across from Rose, and smiled really big. "You don't mind if I sit here do you Rose?" Vivi hoped she'd say yes, and maybe she'd make her first friend in a whole decade.

She was picking absentmindedly at the tiny sandwich she had selected. The food in the underworld was just as shitty as the food her servants enjoyed when she was alive. Rose nipped at the stale bread before sighing and taking a bite. Life down here was a struggle no doubt.
Rose watched the waitress that flew happily from table to table. She never understood how a woman with such spirit could be forced to live here. Her character was far too... Pure maybe? She didn't really know what it was but the waitress' predicament utterly confused her. Rose dropped the thought and bit into her sandwich again.
The exchange between her coworkers went pretty much unnoticed by the dishwasher, but when the girl who she had just been speculating about slid into the booth opposite of her, Rose nearly dropped her lunch out of surprise. The smile the waitress offered her made Rose feel peculiar and she glared back without much of a reaction in return.
Needless to say she was stuck in her idleness for a good five seconds. The awkwardness was tangible but Rose was quick to quell it with a returning greeting. "Oh, um, hello... Vivian. Yeah, sure." She muttered, worried she had slaughtered the name of the waitress she should know. Then again, a decade was but a wink of time nowadays.
