UNDERWORLD'S STORY
Welcome to the city of Underworld, where the deceased come to spend their afterlives. The Underworld, led by the powerful god Ditis Patris, is not the fictional realm known to Greek mythology. Meant to represent the continued life of one's spirit after death Ditis has painstakingly converted his world into a modern, ever-changing, expansive metropolis akin to those of the living realm. Here humans who have died will find many of the luxuries of life have been emulated to near-perfection. It is, in essence, a second life after death, a mirror image to the living realm with some exceptions of course.
The city is divided into three districts: Elysian, Asphodel, and Punish. It is one of these three districts that all humans are sorted into judging by their past lives. If a person was kind and led a good life then they will find their home in Elysian. For those that were particularly wicked or cruel the Punish district is where they will live. And for the person who has been neither exceptionally good nor bad, the Asphodel district is their home. While all humans have a possible chance to upgrade or downgrade what district they live in, many remain in the section they were originally sorted into.
Humans are not the only residents of the Underworld, either. Native to this world are the creations of Ditis, Underlings. Coming in various forms from human to inhuman the Underlings are Ditis' minions and some serve in the running and maintenance of the realm. A large percentage however share more average jobs and activities with humans, thus causing the races to have to live side by side.
Whether you are an Underling or a Human, how you lead your life in the Underworld is yours to choose. Be wary though that there is such a thing as death in the afterlife. The souls of those who find themselves unfortunate enough to meet a second end become unsustainable and a new physical form cannot be recreated. They become a lost soul, left to spend eternity wandering the endless Tartarus Swamp.
So be careful and be wary. But have a pleasant afterlife.
